National Governing Body

This historic foundational registration document officially authorizes the national operations of the Fencing Association of India. It represents our structural compliance and sovereign authority over elite development frameworks across the subcontinent.
The sport of fencing was introduced across India in the 1970s. The Fencing Association of India (FAI) was formally established in 1974. However, structured development and competitions were initiated only in the late 1990s.
As the primary National Sports Federation recognized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, FAI holds ultimate corporate authority over game rulebooks, national training infrastructure, and international team selections. Currently, FAI has 25 State/UT Associations and one institution as affiliated member units.
